Remember When  Links Our Town

The Town Of My Youth

My daydreams they take me back
To that wonderful town of my youth,
... stuck between the Canadian River
... and the windy plains,
my own little heaven here on earth.

I remember the all so many places
The parks where I'd lay me down,
... the sun, the hills and the prickly pear ... I'll be
back,  oh yes I will, long before they lay me underground.

Now, whether I'll live there again
I just cannot say,
... I am still a citizen at heart
... some memories still give my heart a start,
and leave me regretting having moved away.

But nothing else could be done
Perhaps I love my hometown more than before, ... maybe it's
a good thing too ... a different perspective, a visitor's
view, endless fascination, never really bored.

Yes, perhaps I love it more this way
And perhaps that is the way it's meant to be, ... when I
return I'll fall in love again ... I'll be rediscovering
myself then, for that town's as much a part of me as I am a
part of that town.

My daydreams they take me back
To that wonderful town of my youth,
... stuck between the Canadian River
... and the windy plains,
my own little heaven here on earth.
